Continuum Joins Partners in Live
Webcast
Intelligent Testing is the topic of an
upcoming live webcast to be held this Thursday May 5th
at 1 pm EDT (10 am PDT). Continuum, along with its fellow
sponsors, Cisco, EdenTree, and MRV, take a look at the
industry-wide move toward increased test automation in today’s
leading labs, and the new technologies that are enabling this
phenomenon.
Continuum and MRV will introduce their
two distinctly different switching technologies, optical and
electrical switching respectively, and highlight new test
applications that are enabled by these technologies. EdenTree
will provide an overview of their lab automation software,
which provides an integrated capability for lab resource
scheduling, asset management & sharing, and 24/7 physical
lab reconfiguration. Cisco will describe the impact that lab
automation has had on a real Systems Verification Test
lab.

Customer Spotlight:
Carrier Lab Tests FTTH Video
Network
DirectLight products continue to demonstrate strong
value for its customers in network emulation and test. When a
leading ILEC needed to develop a capability for more
effectively testing its video distribution network for its
FTTH roll-out, it chose the DirectLight IG optical switch.
DirectLight is installed in the service providers network
testbed for its next generation video distribution system, and
is used as part of a capability to reconfigure numerous
network elements while testing network performance and link
budgets.

Post-OFC 2005
Round-up & iPod Winners
Thank you to all those people who came to the Continuum
booth at OFC/NFOEC 2005!
We had more than 200 people stop by our booth, making
it one of the best shows for Continuum. Continuum Photonics,
along with its partners, Agilent Technologies, and EdenTree
Technologies, conducted a live remote test automation
demonstration at OFC/NFOEC 2005. Visitors to our booth in
Anaheim were able to visually identify and change test
equipment configurations in Boston, experience automated test,
and interpret test data results remotely.
Response to Continuum’s premier issue of “At the
Transparent Layer” was tremendous – thank you to all those
that signed up to receive the Newsletter on a continuous
basis. We will continue to strive to bring useful information
and interesting customer spotlights in future
issues.
It is also time to announce our 3 iPod
winners:
• Don
P., MCI •
Chris S., Tellabs •
Don
A., SBC
Congratulations to our 3 winners & thanks to all
those who participated!
