Tim joined Alta Berkeley in 1998 following a ten year career within high tech industries, principally semiconductor manufacturing equipment and three years at 3i, a leading London-based private equity firm.
Mr. DaValle has over 19 years of experience within the telecommunications industry. Immediately prior to joining JK&B, Mr. DaValle was Vice President of Engineering and Construction for Ameritech. In that role, Mr. DaValle was responsible for a $2 billion capital budget and leading Ameritech's 7,000-person engineering organization charged with responsibility for all network design and engineering, technology development and network construction.
Bob is an electronic and communications engineer by training, and was a director of Cambridge Consultants Limited for ten years prior to founding Prelude in 1984. He built Prelude up into the UK's leading early-stage technology venture capital investment company, raising three funds, and led its merger with Cazenove Private Equity in 2006 to form Esprit, of which he is Chairman.
Steve has over 30 years of experience in the venture capital industry and has been directly involved in the financing of over 125 companies. Prior to the formation of Flagship Ventures, Steve was a General Partner at OneLiberty Ventures, a predecessor firm to Flagship. Prior to joining OneLiberty in 1994, he was a General Partner at Palmer Partners. Steve's early career includes several years in manufacturing engineering with Dupont and Cambridge Tool. He has an engineering degree from Tufts University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Steve is a past president of the New England Venture Capital Association, and was a founding advisor to Gilde Ventures, a major European venture capital firm.
Mr. Visvanathan has been an investor with 3i's venture team since 1999, and specializes in communications and component technology investments across Europe.
